changes that are effective since April 1, 2019. The changes have been made in
the registration fee of the IELTS examination and the mode of examination.
The registration fees for the academic IELTS exam and general
IAS exam has been revised. The fee for the examination was earlier Rs.12,650.
Now the registration fee is Rs.13,250. This higher fee is applicable to the
candidates whether they gave Computer Based IELTS test or a paper-based IELTS
test.
The second change has been made in the acceptable payment
modes for paying the registration fees of the IELTS examination. One can use
credit cards, debit cards and net banking for making the payment of the fees.
The debit cards can be visa or master. The fees can also be paid using a demand
draft issued by a bank. The candidates are also allowed to make a Bank deposit
in one of the branches of the bank that are enlisted on the website. It can be
done through a customized deposit slip. This deposit slip can be easily
downloaded from the official website where you are registering yourself for
giving the examination. The deposit slip can also be obtained from the branch
office that is located nearby or also by the referral partner.
A very major change has also been made in the mode of the
examination. Iron has introduced a Computer Based examination. Earlier it was
handwritten. Now it is going online. It is going to be highly convenient for
people who are living in areas that are digitally developed. This is going to
raise the status of the examination to a higher extent. When the candidate
chooses the option of Computer-Based examination, he is supposed to give the
test of listening, writing and reading on a system and only the test for
speaking will be conducted by an invigilator while sitting face to face. The
speaking test looks like a paper-based examination. The results of the Computer
Based examination are released after 7 days of the IELTS test.
It is important to understand that the candidates decide
whether they want to appear in the examination online or offline. All the
students get the opportunity to choose between a paper-based examination or
Computer-Based examination. Freedom lies with the preference of the student.
